International Youth Day: 12 August

Set up in 2000, the United Nations International Youth Day celebrates the experiences and voices of young people. Each Day has a different annual theme - for further details, visit the International Youth Day web pages.

The year starting from 12 August 2010-11 has been declared International Year of Youth: Dialogue and Mutual Understanding, which aims at "advancing the full and effective participation of youth in all aspects of society". You can find out more about this Year at http://social.un.org/youthyear/.
